Continuing our round up of 2019…
July
We were thrilled to once again be sponsoring John Kyrle High School’s Netball and Rugby teams on their sports tour in Cape Town, South Africa. All the match kits, leisure wear and kit bags were sponsored by Dawleys.
August
Dawleys hosted a free business networking event on Thursday 8th August in conjunction with the Herefordshire Means Business Breakfast Networking team.

Networking at Dawleys
Over 50 fantastic companies from across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Monmouthshire attended bringing a wide range of new businesses into Ross-on-Wye. Over breakfast, the attendees were able to share ideas, identify business opportunities and make new contacts. The team from Dawleys then gave an entertaining presentation on how to save time and make money by careful use of outsource service providers. This event was rounded off with an overview of Dawleys outsource services and solutions.

Dawleys announced as finalists for Employer of the Year
Hoping to celebrate back-to-back successes, Dawleys were announced as finalists in the Employer of the Year, Herefordshire Means Business Awards.
September
Angela goes for gold
Our very own Angela Bryant jetted off to Jesolo, Venice on the 3rd September to take part in the European Masters Track & Field Championships. Angela took part in the 100m and 200m races, with a chance of taking part in the 4×100 relay. Sadly, Angela didn’t make the finals, but had a fantastic time being part of the GB team. We’re proud of her whatever the result.

Brains and beauty…
The Dawleys Quiz Team blew the competition out of the water at the Lloyds Bank Quiz Night on 12 September. Raising funds for Mental Health UK, the Team won by a magnificent 20 points! Miles clear of the closest opposition.

October
Fundraiser for Little Princess Trust
Dawleys held a fundraiser raffle and bake for the Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust are an amazing local charity based in Hereford who provide real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss and funding vital research into childhood cancer https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/

New phone system goes live
After months of set up and testing, Dawleys new phone system went live in October. The system enables even better functionality for our inbound and outbound call centre teams which have resulted in cost savings and call efficiencies. Feedback from the team ”We love it, it makes our lives so much easier”.

Winners!!
Dawleys were announced as winners of the prestigious Employer of the Year at the Herefordshire Means Business Awards.

November
Huge excitement when HRH Prince Charles visited Ross-on-Wye for the official launch of the Gilpin 2020 Festival. HRH met Dawleys Managing Director Roger Parckar and Account and Sales Director Luke Beard.
In 1770, William Gilpin took Revd John Egerton’s (rector at Ross-on-Wye) Wye Tour from Ross-on-Wye to Chepstow. So impressed was he with the Wye Tour, in 1782 William Gilpin published what is reckoned to be the UK’s first tourist guide. By the end of the eighteenth century the UK’s first package tour was in full swing.
“If you have never navigated the Wye, you have seen nothing.”William Gilpin – Observations on the River Wye – 1770 / 1782

December
We rounded off the year in a mailing frenzy on behalf of our clients, but managed to squeeze in some fantastic fundraisers for the local community which kick started the festive season with a Dawleys Christmas Tree at the St Mary’s Christmas Tree Festival.

Dawleys Christmas lights were switched on…
A Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser was held to raise funds to buy children’s toys for a local charity and donations were invited to support the Ross Community Larder.

….and then we rested…
…ready and raring to go in 2020! Bring it on….
