Solving Breast Cancer Now Fulfilment Issues

Client Problem

Breast Cancer Now required an ecommerce fulfilment solution to manage the distribution of their publications, primarily delivered to hospitals and healthcare centres.

Alongside this, they wanted to centralise their publications service and online charity shop with a single, trusted supplier. Due to the sensitive nature of the materials being distributed, confidentiality was critical.

They needed a fulfilment partner that could operate discreetly, with no visible branding on outer packaging, ensuring recipients received materials in a respectful and appropriate manner.

““Thanks to Dawleys, Breast Cancer Now customers receive the items they order from us quickly and with minimal fuss.”

How Dawleys Helped

Our scalable infrastructure and proven processes allowed us to support both day-to-day fulfilment and seasonal demand peaks particularly during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

By providing secure warehousing space, we enabled Breast Cancer Now to bulk print publications, achieving improved print rates and ensuring stock was readily available to meet fluctuating demand.

Our Approach

Dawleys worked closely with the Breast Cancer Now team to design a smooth transition from their previous supplier.

Stock was transferred to our warehouse over a two-week period, followed by a carefully managed weekend handover of live orders, ensuring continuity of service with no disruption to recipients.

Systems Integration

Dawleys built a standalone database capable of importing, cleansing and processing order data before feeding into our warehouse management and order systems.

Additional validation processes were implemented to pre-screen addresses, ensuring they were compatible for label generation, reducing delivery errors and identifying duplicate orders before dispatch.

Courier Collaboration

Dawleys worked with courier partners to create a cost-effective delivery model tailored to order sizes ranging from single publications to bulk shipments of up to 300 items.

Pricing based on shipment weight proved the most efficient approach, significantly reducing delivery costs. To further minimise waste and control costs, Dawleys also reused boxes for larger consignments wherever possible.

Managing Stock

Dawleys assumed full responsibility for stock management, inbound deliveries and ongoing stock level control. Providing Breast Cancer Now with confidence that inventory was accurately managed and readily available.

“Dawleys make a complex process straightforward, allowing us to concentrate on other aspects of the organisation.”

Results

Since partnering with Dawleys, Breast Cancer Now has benefited from a reliable, consistent fulfilment service with faster turnaround times and improved operational visibility. Fulfilment became more streamlined, supporting a positive experience for recipients while reducing internal administrative burden.

Here’s what we achieved:

  • Stock In: 100% accuracy
  • B2C Orders: Same-day dispatch (by 1PM)
